Letters and Messages from Family and Friends
Loving greetings all the Yergatian family....
All our family sends loving greetings to you as you have the homegoing service of your father, indeed a greatly used servant of the
Lord. He was the patriarch of the family. God gave him many years and a burdened heart for ministries reaching around the world. We cherish the memories of our fellowship and sharing together in the work of the gospel.
We also send our loving greetings to your mother, Esther, trusting that the Lord will strengthen and comfort her heart in this time of loss.
We miss our loved ones who go before us but we have positive assurance that we will meet together in heaven in a glorious reunion of all the redeemed.
We wish we could be present for this important occasion and also enjoy meeting many who have come together from far and near to pay their respects.
At a men's prayer meeting Wednesday morning at our church there was opportunity to share with those present the news of the homegoing of Brother Levon listing a few of the ministries he had a vital part in starting and promoting over the years.
We continue praying for you as a family.
Our heart-felt love goes out to you all.....
From Brother Dick Knox, Sister Martha,
and our families in Japan, Hawaii, and New Mexico.

Dear Sarah, Virginia, Lily, and Hovsep,
I'm very sorry to hear the news about your father. Please accept my sincere sympathy to all the Yergatian family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Your father was like a spiritual father to me during my early walk with the Lord while I attended the American Academy nearly five decades ago.
Levon Melkonian was responsible for leading me to the Lord on one of his visits to Cyprus in the early 60s, but it was your father who natured me in the Lord afterwards during my last four years at the Academy.
When I read your e-mail earlier this morning, I couldn't keep from shedding tears of sorrow but yet these were tears of joy because my dear friend and brother in Christ is home safe at last in the presence of the Lord! What a glorious homecoming in Heaven must be! I'll miss him very much as I had hoped to see him again or speak with him on the phone to tell him
how much a difference he has made in my life because of his love for the Lord and his great passion for souls. He taught me so much during those short early years in Cyprus. May his great example teach us all to faithfully continue to serve the Lord till we meet Him. What a day that will be!
How is your mother coming along? Is she is Cyprus or will she be coming to the States to live with you? Please give my best regards to her and assure her that she will also be in our thoughts and prayers.
My wife and I will be more that happy to participate in your father's Memorial Fund. What an honor and a noble cause!

Last Friday, July 10, was the 46 th anniversary that I left Cyprus. Sarah, I was reminded of your father when we both traveled on the same boat nearly half a century ago. He was going to England to share his burden about the work of the Lord in Cyprus, and especially about the future founding of the Logos School, while I was going to join the Operation Mobilization teams in Paris.
(Attached is a photo taken by my father at the Larnaca sea port prior to our departure on July 10, 1963).
May the God of comfort continue to abide with you.(2 Cor. 1:2-5)
(Please distribute this note to your other two sisters and brother.)
Yours in Christ,
John M. Metaxas

Dear Craig and Sarah:
My wife and I are away for about five weeks in various places throughout Asia--currently in Guam--where we received your e-mail about Levon’s passing into Glory. What an abundant entrance he must have had! Of course, our hearts are heavy with the news. Your father was one of the men I most respected in all the earth. His integrity and his passion for the lost--particularly for his own Armenian people--were a joy to behold and were immediately apparent in every conversation throughout his life.
I know your hearts are very sad right now--and yet full of joy that his sufferings are over and that he has entered into the joy of his Lord. He was a good soldier. He fought a good fight. He kept the faith. You have a glorious heritage!
There is no painless way to lose a father, Sarah, and his loss will forever after leave a very special void. But how blessed it is to know that that void brings from the Lord special nearness and ministration of comfort, and our own loneliness reminds us in a new and stronger way of the sweet reunion to which we look forward with confident hearts.
With deepest sympathy,

Dear Esther, dear Sarah and all the Yergatian family members, with whom we are aquainted, thank you for informing us about Levon´s entrance into Heaven. How wonderful to be seeing the Lord for ever. Levon was a scource of inspiration and help to us. Following his example we started a Christian school in our area that now over 750 students attend. He was the one who encouraged us to start the school. We often enjoyed fellowshipping with him when he stayed in our home.
Our times are in the Lord´s hands and He says in Psalm 116:15: "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints."
We understand that you do not feel like rejoycing now but we know how much easier it is to let a loved one go knowing that we will all be one day reunited. We pray that the Lord will be your comfort during this time of mourning.
Yours united in the Lord Jesus

Dear Sarah, dear sister in Christ,
Thank you very much for your card, which came here today.
I was very and deeply touched to hear about your Father being now with his Savior and Lord. Although he is far better now tears came to my eyes on hearing of it; he was a very good servant of the Gospel, an excellent man of God, a superior believer. I cannot find the right words to express my love and appreciation for him.
We all of us know very well that we will meet him again in the Presence and in the Heavenly Light with our Beloved Lord, Jesus Christ.
My deep sympathy, consolation and love to your Mother, to you and to all of your Yergatian family. God be with you and bless you richly, dear sister in Christ.
Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Dear Sarah:
For some reason, I just had a feeling about your folks before I opened your email. Our sincere sympathy at the loss of your dear father, Levon. One thing we are all certain of is that he is now in the presence of His Savior and Lord for whom he labored so long. He was a dear person and faithful servant of the Lord. I hope your mother is holding up ok. Please give her and your family our condolences. Will be thinking of you all as you attend services Saturday in Cyprus. What a blessing your folks have been to us.
In Him.....

Dear Hovsep,
Our prayers have been with you since the passing away of your dear father, our Levon Uncle.
We have watched the pictures on FB, and ask the comfort of the Holy Spirit to be with you all.
I'm so glad that I was there with you this February past, and was able to spend some time with him. He is with the Jesus he loved so much and lived for all these years, so faithfully.
Can I please have a mailing address in Cyprus where I could send a card to you and Virginia?
Thanks.

Dear Hovsep,
I am so sorry to hear about your dad. However, for him it is 'far better' and he is where he always wanted to be. I have so wanted to come over to see him but have been unable to because of so many obstacles. I will just have to wait to see him in the presence of the Lord.
Please pass on our love and condolences to all the family.

Hovsep, Cathleen and Yergatian family,
There are so many things that can be said and yet there is nothing to be said of any consolation. The physical distance between us makes this all the more difficult. If we were there, we would hug and cry and remember. But we are so far away those things are not possible. You are however, very close to us in prayer and affection. We pray that God would give you all strength and comfort in this very difficult time.
Much love,

When I received the phone call from Sarah, early Sunday morning, asking me to have Lily call her, I knew it was not good news. I later saw Patil, who was obviously sadden by the death of her grandfather. I told her I remembered when my grandmother past away and even though I was sad, deep down in my heart, I felt at peace. Because she was saved and that she was with the Lord. Patil smiled. Although the passing of a loved one is never easy, our Merciful Father in heaven will give you the peace knowing that your father is with him. Your father was a blessing to many people. He will now receive his just reward.

We just wanted to send you a note to let you know that you guys are all in our prayers… starting from Esther Mokoor and to the whole family! I’m sure it’s crazy time for you and I’m not sure where all of you are (Cyprus? Armenia? Both??) but please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. It’s times like these where we feel the need even more to be together as the extended family and I wish we could just give you a hug! Hopefully you will all have a chance to come together this week with your immediate family.
I know we’re a continent away but if there is anything we can do, please let us know… and also know how much Levon Uncle will be missed – he was a beloved uncle to our family – always kind, generous, funny, etc. – I can’t say enough.
Love you guys,

Pastor Elmer told me this morning about your father going Home. Please accept my condolences for this loss to your family and to the work. While saddened, I have a difficult time feeling grieving when a saint is called to Rest. I enjoyed the few times that I was able to be with Levon and the family, but I would not wish to take him away from the glory that is now his. In my opinion this is the highest honor that can happen to a child of Christ, when He calls and says, “That’s enough. Time to come Home.”

Dear Mrs Yergatian, Sarah, Virginia, Lily and Hovsep
I opened your e-mail just this morning upon my return to the office from leave.
I am very deeply saddened by the loss of your beloved father. Mr Levon (as we former pupils of Logos School fondly referred to him) played an instrumental role in setting up the first English secondary school in Limassol in 1973. Partly thanks to him my years at Logos School remain an unforgetable part of my childhood.
I am thankful for the opportunity of meeting Mr Levon last summer at a class reunion arranged by Sarah here in Cyprus. That was a great reunion Sarah and I hope to see you all again here in Cyprus.
During this period of grieving, my parents, sisters, Michael and I would wish that you accept our condolences. Our thoughts are with you all.

Aunt Sarah- our prayers are with you guys from Louisiana. It's so tough to lose a loved one, but we know that the joy of the Lord Uncle Levon is experiencing is worth it all. Love you guys.
